Privacy Policy
Last updated: 24 July 2026
Subsønic is a single-player game developed and published by Komar Labs LLC ("we"). We built it offline-first and we are not in the business of collecting your data. This policy covers two separate things: the game, and this website. They are not the same, and the website is the one with analytics on it.
What the game collects
Nothing automatically. Subsønic has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party trackers, and it does not contact us while you play. Your scores, progress, and settings are stored on your own device (and synced by Steam Cloud; see below). We never see them.
One feature does send information, and only if you choose to use it: the feedback form in the pause menu.
Feedback reports
If you fill in the feedback form and press send, the report goes to a Komar Labs server, which turns it into a ticket we read. Nothing is sent unless you press send, and the form is never shown on its own. A report contains:
- what you typed, plus your email address if you chose to give one;
- a screenshot of that moment, if you leave "Attach screenshot" ticked;
- your Steam ID and Steam display name, so we can recognize reports from the same player and follow up;
- a random identifier stored on your device, which links your reports to each other and to nothing else;
- details of the session: your operating system, CPU, graphics card and graphics settings, the game version, the song and difficulty you were playing, how long the session had been running, and performance measurements;
- the last 40 lines of the game's local log, to show what happened just before the problem. We strip your account name and home folder path out of those lines before they are sent.
We use reports only to fix and improve the game. We do not sell them, and we do not use them for advertising or profiling.
This website
This site (subsonic.komarlabs.dev) uses two third-party services to measure whether our marketing works. They apply to the website only; none of this is in the game.
- PostHog for product analytics. It records page views and interactions such as clicks, along with your approximate location (derived from your IP address, which PostHog does not store), your browser and device type, the page you arrived from, and any campaign tags in the link you followed. It sets cookies to recognize a returning browser. We use this to see which pages and links people actually use.
- Google Ads conversion tracking. If you click through to our Steam page, we record that a click happened so we can tell which adverts lead to visits. Google sets cookies for this, and may use them for advertising and measurement under its own terms.
We use this to understand traffic and advertising in aggregate. We are not building a profile of you, and we do not sell any of it.
If you would rather not be measured: browsers offer cookie controls, "Do Not Track" and private browsing, and standard tracker-blocking extensions block both of these services. Nothing on this site is withheld if you block them; the site works exactly the same.
These services are operated by their own companies under their own policies: the PostHog Privacy Policy and the Google Privacy Policy.
Steam
Subsønic is distributed through Steam and uses Valve's Steamworks features. To provide them, Valve (not us) processes certain data tied to your Steam account, including:
- your Steam ID, to initialize the game and show your name in-game;
- your save files, stats, and achievements, synced via Steam Cloud across your devices;
- controller input via Steam Input.
That processing is governed by Valve's own privacy policy, not this one. See the Valve Privacy Policy.
Children
Subsønic is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone.
Changes
If the game later adds more online features (for example, leaderboards), we will update this policy to describe what they collect before those features ship.
